Sociology lesson

Monday, i have sociology lesson and teacher said at the beginin "talking Paris attacks"…
To introduce lesson we have done a little debate on this subject, people say that we can't said people are harmful because he did attacks, you should know this motivation… So at the beginning i was agree because we can't adjudicate terrorists without looking that France have done in our country…
Teacher said that everybody can act on France strategy : do war to Syrie. But i don't agree in this talking because it's late and we can't go at the president house in order to tell him "excuse me, i don't agree with our strategy, stop the war please…!")
Terrorists killed innocent peoples and we can't said "they aren't harmful for us"… They haven't right killed peoples who passed a good moment between them or who listen music… It's very sad.
In my opinion, if teacher reacting like that it's because he doesn't have family people in Paris at this moment…
At the end of the day, i was running in order to forget that during a moment…

  1. It's a complicated debate on a complex situation.Sadly our elites don't show a great deal of understanding of it because they didn't travel themselves, They didn't communicate directly because of the language barrier.
We can't get heard by our president but each of use can show empathy and interest to everyone involved. being open, communicate, share our lives, our ideas is a great start and it's now possible.

  2. Linked here through a posting from Simon Ensor. Thank You for these thoughts. Going to war against anyone ignores the fact that mostly civilians die as the war as it spills over to their homes. Soldiers are people too so all we do is kill people to get at ideas that they were told--and break their weapon machines.

So WE do what THEY do by disregarding their humanity like they disregard ours and it never stops. We on both side make up reasons to hurt each other and give up our human values in the process.

I think Bruno is right that it is a complicated situation but not that complex where unexpected things happen. This can all be understood and responded to in a way that might fix things. Instead of just reacting and making the problem more intense we could start supporting peace and not make more war. First we can understand what makes us do this to each other and work from there.
